An exquisite, functional Victorian to Edwardian-era antique Wedgwood matchbox holder sleeve with a tray. Crafted in deep cobalt blue jasperware dip, this piece features classical white sprigged bas-reliefs. The central matchbox chimney displays a scene of Cupid stringing his bow on one side, and Pegasus with an attendant on the reverse. The attached scalloped tray is decorated with detailed cherubs and vignettes borders, historically used to catch discarded matchsticks.

Condition: good condition: no chips, cracks or repairs; a genuine, historic interior patina and surface tarnish at the tight inner corners and bottom of the chimney.
