Vintage Chinese Rosewood Jewellery Box with Carved Jade Medallion and Ornate Brass Hardware

An exquisite vintage Chinese export jewellery box hand-crafted from rich, dark polished rosewood. The top lid features a central, openwork pierced jade medallion framed by hand-embossed brass endless knots. Ornately chased brass protective corner guards, floral motif brackets, and decorative accent plates secure the exterior.                                                     It opens via a secure fold-over hasp supported by an internal brass stay arm, revealing a vibrant red with yellow florals brocade satin interior.

Maker: Chinese Export Workshop - features original red base label with code 304.

Condition: very good vintage condition, the only minor flaw is yellow stain on white rim perimeter of the lid's jade medallion.
