Antique/Vintage Anglo-Indian Hand-Carved Walnut Trinket Box – Kashmiri Foliate Design (c.1920s)

This exquisite antique Anglo-Indian box features a high-density, deeply hand-carved relief on the lid and sides, showing premium Kashmiri craftsmanship from the early 20th century. The lid - striking central scalloped floral medallion bordered by continuous blooming foliate scrolls, carved out of a single block of rich, dense Indian walnut.           The interior and base display beautiful natural grain of the wood, preserved without fabric lining.

Complete with brass hinges, this period piece makes an elegant vintage jewellery, trinket keeper or sophisticated tabletop statement item.

Maker: handcrafted by master wood artisans in Kashmir, Northern India

Age: early 20th Century (circa 1920–1939)

Dimensions: 19.5cm/7.7” x 12.5cm/4.9”, height 5cm/2”, weight 425 gr

Condition: very good condition, authentic aged dark patina with a minor discolouration spot on the top surface, adding to its vintage character (please see photos)
