Antique Dudson Brown Jasperware Hunting Scene Cream Jug, Mid-Late 19th c

This charming Victorian cream jug is decorated with crisp white sprigged reliefs of a traditional hunting scene featuring a running stag and pursuing hounds. The central vignette is framed by deep bands of white oak leaves and acorns along both the upper rim and base. Completed with a rustic braided rope handle, this diminutive pitcher is typical of early Dudson utilitarian stoneware.
Maker: Dudson, (Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire), England
Age: mid-late 19th c, likely 1860s-1880s
Dimensions: height 8cm/3.1”, width (snout to handle) 9 cm/3.5”, base diameter 6.3cm/2.5”, weight 160 gr
Condition: very good condition; no chips, cracks; minor, light age-related discolouration to sections of the white relief
