Discover the monumental life of Arthur Wellesley in this premium 1911 printing of Wellington by George Hooper, issued under Macmillan's "English Men of Action" series. Printed on remarkably thick, antique woven paper stock, this heavy-gauge volume features crisp text blocks alongside high-contrast monochrome battle illustrations, notably including Peter Kraft's Storming of Seringapatam and J.M.W. Turner's famous study of Hougomont.
The front page retains its historical provenance via a Holy Trinity Church Sunday School prize label from Heworth, York, dated Christmas 1919.
Wrapped in olive-green cloth boards with stamped dark-green pillar accents, it serves as a highly tactile specimen for military historians or interior book styling.

Condition: internal hinges remain strong, extra-thick page block is complete without tears. Heavy, dark age-related foxing and uniform browning are visible on the plain endpapers and page margins. The green textile spine is uniformly light-faded to a sandy tan tone, external edges show light storage scuffs.
