Antique J.G. Late Mayers Crusoe plate

Antique J. G. Late Mayers "Crusoe" James Gildea transferware plate – blue & white tropical scene. A stunning and rare transferware plate in the "Crusoe" pattern was produced in England during the late 19th century (likely 1880's), during aesthetic movement.
This black and white plate features a highly detailed tropical seascape with palm trees, sailing boats, and figures in a lush island setting, depicting scenes from Daniel Defoe's famous novel Robinson Crusoe. The lower portion of the plate is decorated with a patchwork of exotic scenes and patterns, bordered with subtle gold gilt accents on the ornate handles.
Diameter 26.5cm x 24.5cm
Stamped “Crusoe – J. & G. Meakin – Late Mayers” with crest and registration number. There is crazing, wear of gold accent and a hairline crack on the right side. Please inspect photos carefully.
