An authentic antique Japanese antimony metal trinket tray, dating to the Meiji or Taishō period. This compact piece features a detailed, high-relief cast design of two sacred cranes wading through a pond among blooming irises, bordered by Art Nouveau waves. It serves as a perfect vanity ring holder or desk trinket dish.
Material: cast antimony (white metal / base alloy) with remnants of silver plate
Maker: unmarked Japanese metalwork studio (likely Tokyo or Yokohama).
Age: likely 1900 – 1920 (Late Meiji to early Taishō Era)
Dimensions: 14cm/5.5”x 10.5cm/4.1”, weight 120gr
Condition: fair antique condition, originally silver electroplated, extensive wear beautifully exposes the rich, dark copper and grey base metals beneath.
