This rare, authentic late-Victorian fine bone china sugar or slop bowl features the prestigious, highly sought-after Foley Shape, instantly recognizable by its four-lobed (quadripartite) clover-like base profile and deeply fluted, heavily scalloped walls. The interior and exterior are elegantly decorated with pattern 3981- a beautiful Aesthetic Movement design consisting of hand-accented, bright gold gilded bouquets of flowers, thistles, and trailing tendrils.

Maker: Wileman & Co (The Foley China), Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, predecessor to the Shelley brand.

Age: circa 1894–1898

Dimensions: diameter 15.5cm/3.7”, height 7.3cm/2.2”, weight 265gr

Condition: very good, no damage, wear on gilt, some glaze spotting/foxing
