Antique WMF Art Nouveau Silver Plated Bonbon Basket – Vine & Berry Handle

A striking piece of authentic European metalware history, this antique Art Nouveau silver-plated bonbon basket was crafted in Germany by the prestigious WMF. The basket's bowl boasts a deeply lobed organic shape accentuated by embossed interior teardrop accents and rests on four round ball feet.

It’s standout feature is a high-arching overhead handle modelled as a living vine, intricately twisted with climbing leaves and dimensional berries.

Stamped clearly on the handle leaf with historic WMF workshop stamps - including the traditional "I/O" plating thickness mark and the "OX" oxidized antique silver finish designation.

Maker: WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), Geislingen, Germany.

Age: circa 1900 – 1918 (Authentic Jugendstil / Art Nouveau period).

Dimensions: 13cm/5.1”x 11cm/4.3”, height 12.5cm/4.9”, weight 183 gr

Condition: very good antique condition, beautiful age-related patina and light interior tarnish spots offer a highly desirable weathered character.
