Chinese Wooden box with brass and jade

This is a beautiful vintage decorative wooden box with intricate embellishments, giving it a rich and elegant appearance. Made of rosewood or redwood, the lid inside is padded with red embroidered silk, the bottom part-painted wood.

The box is adorned with etched brass corner and edge fittings, which are both decorative and protective. Fittings have an aged patina. The lid features three carved jade or jade-like material medallion inlays. Between the medallions are additional decorative brass inlays and large brass latch on the front of the box. Labelled with Made in Shanghai, China at the bottom of the box, likely early-mid 20th Century. 

Measurements: length 9.5cm/3.7",  width 25cm/9.8", height 7.5cm/3"
