Heavy 3.9kg Vintage White Alabaster Shiva's Nandi Bull Statue - Sacred Cow

This substantial hand-carved Nandi Shiva's sacred bull statue is crafted from solid white alabaster, known for its beautiful translucent quality and "sugary" crystalline structure. The recumbent bull features a decorative collar and sits on an integrated base.

At nearly 4kg, it is an exceptionally heavy and large example of traditional stone carving and an impressive decorative statement piece. It features beautiful natural character, including subtle greenish mineral veining and internal mottling ( on one side and the top of head) which confirms its authenticity as a natural stone piece (natural mineral inclusions inherent to the stone).

Maker: traditional stone masonry artisan (unattributed) from Rajasthan, India

Age: circa 1960s – 1980s

Dimensions: 14cm/5.5” height, 21.5cm/8.5”lenght, 9.5cm/3.7” width,  weight 3940 gr

Condition: Very good vintage condition, age-related edge wear to the base- a cosmetic chip to the tip of right ear and the lower front edge of the base (see photos). This does not impact the stability or overall display of the piece.
