Vintage Chinese Hand-Carved Soapstone Foo Dog Incense Burner – 1.2kg Guardian Lion Censer

A substantial and exquisitely detailed hand-carved soapstone incense burner featuring three traditional Guardian Lions -Foo Dogs. This impressive 1.2kg piece showcases a central reticulated "latticework" vessel, flanked by two frolicking lions with a third seated on the removable lid.

Resting on a contrasting dark-carved soapstone base, this piece represents classic mid-century Asian craftsmanship and serves as a powerful Feng Shui symbol of protection and prosperity.

 Maker: China, regional artisans Qingtian/Shoushan style

Age: circa 1930s–1960s

Material: Hand-Carved Natural Soapstone

Dimensions: height 18.5cm/7.3”, length 19cm/7.5”, width 8.5cm/3.3”,  weight 1260gr

Condition: very good vintage condition, few minor marks on one lion's leg, see photos. Please note that soapstone is a natural, soft stone, so minor surface variations and tiny inclusions are part of its hand-carved character.
