Vintage Hand-Painted Fuzhou Chinese Lacquer Landscape Tray

This oval tray is a classic example of Fuzhou "Bodiless" Lacquerware (Tuotai), a traditional craft world-renowned for its incredible lightness and durability. 

Authentic Chinese tray features a mountain landscape, hand-painted with traditional mineral pigments, the high-gloss black surface serves as a dramatic backdrop for a vibrant image. 

Perfect for mid-century décor- as a vanity tray for jewelry, a base for cocktail glassware, or as a decorative Chinoiserie accent.

Origin: Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China

Age: circa 1960s

Measurements: width 27cm/10.6”, depth 2cm/0.8”, weight 130gr

Condition: very good vintage condition, minor surface -couple of small dents on rim, wear consistent with age, which adds to its authentic character. Please inspect photos carefully.

Care: wipe clean with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, do not soak in water or expose to direct heat.
